Two forms of the efficient market hypothesis, both imperfect. I'm more partial to the strong form but pity that Cendant's shareholders were not privy to the inside information before the fall. Sunbeam also comes to mind. The uncertainty of markets is what makes the market; perceptions and quality of information vary for all participants.
