I wholeheartedly agree that it may pay to be contrarian with regard to the Japanese situation. After all, hardly a layman on earth is now not aware ot it and towards bottoms it is ALWAYS difficult to see any hope. Therefore, I think the odds are we dont see collapse but rather a turning around after putting in a final bottom. This would not be good news for the market in the US, as it would reverse many factors contributing to our excess liquidity conditions.
