Well in that case the analyst will have to be saying that the economy will turn down in the third and fourth calendar quarters which is the opposite of conventional current wisdom since the fourth quarter is the best for box sellers and the third is when CPU's and hardware are being ordered and shipped.

I would think that if Intel is able to report good earnings it will come as such a relief that we will get the same effect we saw when it ran up earlier this year --- after coming in pennies above estimates.

But I'm interested in knowing just what consensus here is on this. Also how early in July are they reporting?
