Contest---
PTEN... SHORT- Earning should be around .40-.45cents for '98.
It's currently trading at 20-25 times '98 earnings and the short term outlook is getting worse, imho. Further, should bounce monday morning above 9 3/4-- short then. I've been trading this one for a while, always bounces in the morning.. then flops in the afternoon.;-)

CDG... LONG- Much better value and earnings will not be hit too hard. I'm looking for a reversal,1-2pm friday was a good start but needs confirmation monday. iqc.com

cheers

CONTEST

I love contests, they are fun, they are free, and they let you see how well or how poorly, stocks perform, that you may not normally follow. I consider contests a learning tool not a competition.

I will submit the 2 stocks I am both long in. If this sector rally's this week, which I expect it will, now that the OPEC meeting are past history and out of the way....

Looking back, we see that stocks rallied in expectation of the OPEC meetings. Then pulled back, just as expected....well now is the time to AAMO ... acknowledge and move on...

GW

CDG and MDCO long

In CDG at $32 from Friday, and will buy MDCO if I can still get it mid $15s Monday. We're gonna bounce but this time I don't think we'll give it all back. I'm going to definitely stay long on Cliffs, probably for a few months at least. I might only play MDCO for a point or two short term. At least that's the plan for now :-)

***CONTEST***

Long VRC and FGII. I expect a good week for a change because of the
beginning of the quarter, hot weather, and the fact that the negative reaction to the OPEC cuts is behind us. These two companies have
huge backlogs, and have performed very well under low oil prices,
although their stock prices have not. FGII was down almost 10% on
Friday, and I believe it will bounce next week.

CONTEST: CDG long FGII long are my picks. Both CDG and FGII dumped too much last week and should be the 1st to rebound. Both great co. with much upside verces downside. The last bump up both did well.

CONTEST

Long RIG
Deepest of deep water drillers, least likely impacted
by current oil price fluctuations, safest pick for
mutual fund types looking to be the first back in

Long SLB
Largest fish in the service sea. Lots of volume,
following, and visibility. Not only trading near yearly
price low but also near low PE for past couple of years.
Another potential mutual fund favorite.
