Very interesting point re: OLAP - especially as Arbor is the acquirer of Hyperion and so will waste no time at all in ensuring it does not licence OLAP technology from a rival and also will aim at retro-converting its TM1 Hyperion users ...

One never tires of the developments in IT ... no, no-one seems to have noticed the (apparent) negative implications of this. Depends how big a channel partner in terms of revenue Hyperion was to APLX.

Strangely enough, I had not that long ago become aware that Hyperion were looking at circumventing the licensing of a 3rd party OLAP tool which was implicit in their solutions. No vendor wishes to depend upon outside suppliers for both technical and revenue reasons.

Watch this space. Looks like I'll be sitting on my $10 stakes for some while yet.
