Intel will set price for xeon 450mhz some as 400 mhz after introduce ( no price cut for 400 mhz) that make xeon 400 obsolete

INTEL is accelerating the release of Katmai--its highly anticipated, next-generation multimedia processor--and will make more high-speed Pentium II and Celeron chips than originally planned after better-than-expected success with its current manufacturing technology. The initial Katmai chip, which will run at 500 MHz, will now come out in the first quarter of 1999,

since XEON is a hi end brand new chip in the market , most people may want to wait for only 3 months to buy the 450 mhz some price with the 400 mhz now

So that will be a bigger jump from q3 to q4 on xeon sell

P/S I can be wrong too

Paul & ALL:

I have done some thinking about my comment to Paul re: BS. And while it was not my intention to imply that Paul was a Nazi, it appears that some people viewed it as such. (Including Paul himself).

So, here goes.

I wish to publically apologize for that comment. It was not my intention to imply anything about Paul's personality or religous, politcal or otherwise disposition.

Steve

PS No one prompted this so don't even think that the WebMistress had anything to do with this. This is called admitting a mistake.
