"Another example, Christ's birth, December 25. Well educated Christians (true Christians) know Christ's birthday was not December 25. It was probably sometime in August or October if my memory serves me well (I am not sure if these are the two months that were determined). That date was chosen by Constantine, a Roman Catholic leader trying to fold the pagans into Roman Catholism (or what he called Christianity). Pagans had there Winter Soltice celebration then so he figured Christmas could be overlaid on top of this celebration, and bingo, pagans would jump on the band wagon easier into his Roman Catholism. It was the same as Easter. The Jewish Passover was the holiday which Jesus last supper, death and resurrection was celebrated in the early church. Constantine decided to use his pagan celebration to Ishtar, the Spring God, to overlay the Passover celebration. Hence you got Easter, from Ishtar, and the pagans still had there holiday. " Steve, I know from your past writings that you love truth. This is why I find it hard to understand how you can put out such false words. "Easter" and Christman were celebrated long before Constantine came on the scene. The term "Easter" was never used in the Greek and Latin language. The term in both language is Pascha or Passover. The Jewish Apostles established the Christian celebration of Pascha. There is also some evidence from early Church Fathers writings that the birth of Jesus was also celebrate by the early disciples. Easter is simly the anglicized word for Pasca. Your contentions are "Chick comic book" theology and not historical truth. Constantine was a Christian. I would strongly advise you to read Eusebius's personal account of Constantine and his conversion and Christiane beliefs. When you beginning judging confessed Christines you are wadding out in very deep spiritual water. Constantine's wife was a Celtic Brition who also was a Christian. She was a holy believer who did much to spread the faith. Constantine's conversion caused him much grief with the overwhelmingly pagan Roman Aristocrats and the Roman Senate. It would have been to his political advantage no to publicly announced his conversion but he did. To falsely judge dead Christians to appease the politcally correct crowd is just as judging falsely judging the living. Pascha and Christmass have always been holy holidays in the Christian Church. Pascha or "Easter" week is the celebration of the new passover, the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus. The power presents of the Holy Spirit during these celebration is evident enough of their validity. You are in serious error with the words you have spoken against Pascha
