A judge recommended that Novell receive a $25.9 million settlement in a software piracy case. CORRECTION; (the 15 minute time limit ran out before I finished editing):

According to DJBEINO's earlier post #22931:
A judge recommended a $25.9 million award to Novell in a software piracy case, but Novell is going to request treble damages! That's three kinds of good news. 1) Money into Novell's coffers. 2) Reassurance to resellers who were hurt by the pirates. and 3) Deterrence to other pirates. Novell says its anti-piracy group handles 1,200 cases of software piracy annually! A few $78 million settlements might slow down some of the pirates.

Then, from Victor Danti's post #22937:

Headline:
Senator calls on company to drop 'PR campaign'; calls for more hearings.

Hatch also accused Microsoft of dissembling to the Judiciary
Committee:

<Hatch pointed to Microsoft's contracts with Internet service providers as an example of the software titan's anticompetitive behavior..>

<He added Microsoft told the Judiciary Committee before the March hearing that it no longer would enforce the contracts, but that the company continues to do so.>
