Sue -- there is nothing harder than holding an issue that is down while most others are ticking up. Most of the time as a trader I will NOT do that. But as a trader I seem to always have 3 - 4 CPQ purchases in the portfolio. At times I have had to hold but never have taken a hit (yet?) on CPQ. When it starts to roll it will do nicely--- if you see more profit in other areas it MAY be prudent to put the cash to work on the plus side as the loss here could offset. I do not suggest that is a good idea with CPQ, just a thought. The CPQ I hold is all SLIGHTLY in the black, for now. IMO zero of the good news is in the stock. If the numbers come out bad (unlikely) it will not go down far or long from here--- if they are OK we get a nice pop,, and an UP surprise will see us up and running for awhile. At this point some cash is a good thought as Japan may fail and we will see some prices we never thought would be back --------------

Susanne: I've been holding CPQ for 10 months, much of that time underwater.

But an unexpected bonus-- I picked up a compaq 2200 new for $399. My son, who has been complaining that his old 486 won't run the new games, has his 11th birthday next Sunday.

You might say taking advantage of the overstock is a slight bonus for being underwater for so long. But if the stock had been moving with the market, and I would have made a bushel of money, and probably gotten him a hotter computer.
