Good Evening Bill: I think the words you have written today are the most prescient and important of the last few days.
I personally believe that there is a little too much over-anticipation evident in regards to forthcoming events. For example: Comments about the Website in it's current state etc. From what I hear, the programming and development of the new website is apparently being done by specialists on both the East and West Coasts and also out of Europe, which I mentioned a week or so ago in one of my posts. One of the questions that I put to the management is how the website will differ from others and I have been more than satisfied by their responses as I know they are keenly aware of standout requirements.
I believe what we witnessed yesterday, was the old shell temporarily located at the new server site maybe for speed trials or something. Seems like the speed is up to par! From what I hear the rest will be too.
To elaborate on some of the background that I have turned up. I would like to re-post this announcement in July 97 by Siemens Pyramid regarding Financial Intranet' decision to choose Siemens Pyramid advanced technology and Software. I think reading this will clear up any doubts people may have as to where this is all going and it appears clear to me that there has been a monumental effort involving a ton of programming, preparation and beta-testing in putting all this together to get it to the launch and ship stage. Everyone who calls there knows that they are all fiendishly busy trying to complete things on schedule and finalize on a variety of fronts.
Look, they surprised us before and I for one believe they will definitely not disappoint us with all that they plan to deliver. On the few occasions I have talked with Management, I have come away singularly impressed and detect more than a quiet confidence, rather more of restrained excitement over all of what they are working on for us. Therefore, I'm more than prepared to be both realistic and patient, because I am confident they will deliver a superior product, but as anyone in business knows, from Microsofts to Microcaps, even 'insanely' great products don't always ship on time. I'm not saying this will happen, I'm just not fretting over it. I'm simply staying cool.
Here's the initial release by Siemens:
SIEMENS PYRAMID SERVER TECHNOLOGY TO POWER WORLD'S FIRST ONLINE, SECURE VIDEO NETWORK FOR FINANCIAL COMMUNITY
New York-based Financial Intranet selects Siemens Pyramid to drive high-end, multimedia network providing video training, product, marketing and communications services to brokers, dealers and mutual fund agencies.
SAN JOSE, Calif. (August 26, 1997) -- Siemens Pyramid Information Systems, Inc. today announced that Financial Intranet, Inc. (OTCBB: FNTN) has selected Siemens Pyramid(R) to provide hardware, software and other components for its multimedia information delivery system serving the financial community. New York-based Financial Intranet is scheduled to deliver video-on-demand learning services, interactive video teleconferencing, customer lead generation, mutual fund product information and state-of-the-art communications services to its members via a secured intranet connection starting early fourth quarter 1997.
Financial Intranet's high-end network linking independent brokers, dealers and mutual fund agencies will be the world's first video-on-demand resource delivering secured video information to the financial community. The network will serve as Financial Intranet's primary information delivery channel to its subscribers in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim.
"In addition to serving our subscribing members, we will use Siemens Pyramid servers on our Web site for individual investors looking for an online resource to help them evaluate their investment options," said Michael Sheppard, president and chief operating officer of Financial Intranet. "When evaluating technology to help deploy our services, we found that Siemens is the only company that offers all the products and services we need. We expect that Siemens Pyramid is only our first partner among the Siemens group of companies."
Sheppard added, "Along with the performance that's critical to our real-time information delivery, Siemens Pyramid brings proven experience in creating advanced data warehousing solutions to our team."
Supported by an RM600 E enterprise server and three RM400 C workgroup servers from Siemens Pyramid, the network will unify Financial Intranet's diverse resources and future international branches, establishing an easily accessible, virtual storefront for customers to receive investment data and services.
Initial financial resources and services provided by the network include:
MULTI-CAST DISTANCE LEARNING, which will facilitate training through the use of real-time video and stored multimedia presentations. This service will include digital, on-demand access to training and sales fulfillment material from participating mutual funds and other creators of investment products. This will also offer presentations and training materials to prepare brokers and dealers for exams administered by the National Association of Securities Dealers and the National Futures Association.
MULTI-CAST VIDEO CONFERENCING, which will enable mutual fund agencies to interact with brokers and answer their questions on new products and services in real-time video. Multi-point video conferencing will make these sessions available via the Internet or dedicated lines, depending on the subscriber's needs.
ONLINE INFORMATION RESOURCES, which will give individual investors real-time access to financial information over the Internet. Through data mining search systems, investor candidates will be profiled and matched with the appropriate broker or dealer.
REAL-TIME MARKET DATA, which will provide subscribers with the latest information on private placements, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and quote pages from stocks, commodities, options and mutual funds.
"With the thousands of mutual funds that investors have to choose from, the financial service providers who can deliver the most value to their clients will be those who have nearly instantaneous, up-to-date knowledge of the investing world at their fingertips," said James Guilmart, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Siemens Pyramid. "By centrally housing this vast array of information and distributing it to its subscribers via a secured, high-speed network, Financial Intranet demonstrates how technology can revolutionize and improve the business model in today's information age."

FNTN are they in-tune??? It is very obvious to me that mngt. at Financial Intranet is in some kind of sync with the way the the internet is shaping the way we behave, think, act, and is now becoming second nature. There are literally billions of potential customers out there. I believe that if they play their cards right, (in which I believe they are holding 4 aces) they could be able to capture a big portion of the market, and if they spare no expense to hit the niche at the right time, but as well set a standard at Financial Internet for investment and research. This next 3 to 5 years will be the small cap "ATOMIC" BOOM!!!
We have yet to scratch the surface of "computing lifestyles" in our world. We have yet to see the earning potential THAT THE INTERNET HOLDS for internet business. If FNTN can stay focused and goal minded they should and will grow into a financial BIG BOY.
We should see strong upside once the web site is operational. Investors are looking or quick and timely information in todays HIGH TECH marketplace.
Hold tight "LONGERS" because the potential for FINANCIAL INTRANET is only held in bay by it's management skills and from the way I'm seeing it, our team is definitely IN-TUNE.
Best of Investing..... THE WHO
