Colin...

Answers:
1) Yes, there is an option to display the time column. Most people don't use it as it adds little value and you are trying to cram as many things on your screen as you can.

2) I don't have a thorough understanding of the margin account for MBT. And, reading through the chat transcript MBT did on margin, it appears there is alot of confusion. It may be 3x now, you'd have to call them. All I know is I trade 2x my excess maintenance. Which, come to think of it, works out to be 3x intraday. But, you should call them or send them an email. They'd be glad to answer your questions.

You can have the time too - no problem, it is available option. Because screen space is scarce, most don't bother since the time of the last trade is always shown anyway. Plus, the stocks most of us trade move so fast - time doesn't matter. Also, if you use a minute chart, it shows time too...

I use this kinda setup :

MM BID CHANGE SIZE
---- ------ ------ ----
MSCO 43 1/4 +1/4 10

Its nice to see the change column, whether MM is increasing or decreasing his bid/ask. Also, I have the integrated prints running which gives color coded (red/white/green) sales/qty.

As regards margin - I personally think x3 or x4 is very dangerous...

You could end up getting quite a nasty shock. x2 is good for me.

All the best

I didn't realize you had posted your first questions on two threads.

here is a link to my answers on another thread, whoops.

Also the margin policy is strictly by the book, and the deal is you can trade twice your cash, plus this one other point.

If you hold an overnight position, you are now able to Day trade ( i think ) 50% or 75%, plus 2 times excess equity, so you are indeed getting a 3x or 4x margin rate, but if you try to hold that much over you will get a call. ( i am sorry there is too much to know sometimes and I don't like leveraging my account to such an extreme )

i had enough SI for one day

have a great week
