I'm not sure if this is part of the equation or not, but Vixel now talks about support for fabric cascading in their Rapport 4000 product info. A recent white paper also references the Rapport 4000 approach to Zoning. These are both terms Brocade has used in the past. Also mentions a "switching hub" [similar to the Gadzoox Denali area switch ?] due in Q4 98. Their present product roadmap seems to be hub> switching hub> 8 port switch.

Did anyone happen to see the lastest post in Yahoo board....Could it be possible...Or is it just more hype...Although I don't remember ever seeing Sun announcing any contracts yet and find it real unlikely that all these OEMS will use just one supplier and then again maybe Brocade is having problems...Maybe Ancor is still in the game and don't even know about it...Replies and research welcome...
