I am posting here with the hope that someone from Waterhouse is monitoring this board and cares enough to reply: I have had an account with WHO for 17 years. My wife and I have 3 accounts and have a supervisory capacity on 2 others. I have, in the years past, been a WHO shareholder and was also a shareholder of TD after the company was sold. I have been extremely loyal, recommending this brokerage on many boards. Most recently a neighbor opened an account on my recommendation.
He came over and I showed him how "Touch-tone" worked and he was sold. My complaint is with the online service only. I have always been treated well by my branch and the "touch-tone" feature works great.
The web Broker has become really worthless during the day.I just tried to log on to check my account(7 p.m. eastern) and could not. I checked Discover Direct and every thing is fine there. I agree with the previous posts that this brokerage does not deserve a #1 rating due to the unreliability of Web-Broker. We went thru these same growing pains a year ago and the company asked for patience. Now it seems they don't publicly admit to any problems at all.
I would move everything to Discover Direct except the $19.95 commission for limit orders galls me. Also, I hate to give up on Waterhouse, but how much longer should we be expected to be patient?
My apologies to the board for taking so much bandwidth, but I feel better! Regards, Rich
