Rod, do you have data on that. The last time I looked the "Proven" were quite modest, there were additional probable, but nothing even close to a billion barrels in that sum. However, since I look at it last quite sometime ago, information might have changed.

At the last annual meeting ,one of the slides was on their growth in "proved reserves". They broke in down this way :

Proved reserves in Colombia : 500 Mboe(approximations from bargraph)
" " " US : 690 Mboe (Figures as of the end of 97)

Also of interest:
Independently Engineered reserves 12/31/97
possible probable proved total
Future net revenue $1249 mil $156mil $166mil $1,571
mil
Net Present value $942 " $60 " $101 $1,103 mil
(millions -before tax)

Oil (millions 167.8 16.6 13.1 197.5 mil bar
of barrels)
Gas (Billions
of cubic feet) 136.2 8.7 33.3 178.2 BCF

Sorry if the columns don't line up but it gets converted this way when its posted. Just read the numbers in the proper sequence ; 1.possible 2.probable 3. proved 4.total .

I hope these figures put most minds to rest. The numbers would be larger with the 98 additions and possibly a little less for the temporarily lower oil prices. Since most production in Colombia is in the future ,less relevance should be placed on this temporary downturn
in prices(IMO). (Mboe=million barrels oil equivalent )
