I was in Mexico city last week - speeking of no middle class everyone almost is poor except for a small class of extremely wealthy people. What seperates us from them and countries like them is ongoing advantages from early American industrial revolution and its legacy - leading companies on a world class basis and our technology and education. This may change slowly as other countries attact missing ingredients - democracy, know how and education. At first this may bring US living standards more in line with competition - lower but over the long term perhaps the whole world's living standards are increased. No doubt with more flow of knowledge and competition the rate of change will continue to accelerate - for better or worse. In this scenario companies like TLK will thrive as the people of Indonesia do better and become more like the West. Just some opinions.
