The word tells us that our conflict is spiritual and that is true. Many don't understand because they only try to make sense of what they see and have no understanding of the spiritual conflict. Here it is. In Mark 13:10 Jesus says when telling his followers about the signs that will precede the end, "And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations." Again just after Jesus rose from the dead and was appearing to His disciples He instructed them again, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." Mark 16:15. So before the end can come all creation must hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said "must" in Mark 3:10 and "to all the nations." He said again in Mark 16:15, "preach the gospel to all creation." So this is a condition that must be met for the end to come. The devil knows God's word. He used it to tempt Jesus. The devil knows what happens to him when the end comes. he is trying to avoid that punishment. To prevent the end from coming he has always hindered the gospel with many different tactics over the centuries. All his plans may have delayed the end but now it is down to the wire for him. All the nations have heard the gospel, except for a few. The only ones left are the native peoples in the rain forests. The missionaries have always been waiting right behind the loggers to learn the language of the next tribe found and preach the gospel to them. The loggers find them, the missionaries preach to them. Without the loggers they could not be found, if they are not found and preached to the end cannot come. Jesus said "all creation". It is getting to the point where it will be true that for the first time since Jesus rose from the dead that everyone on the planet will have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then the end will come. The devil doesn't want that. So he has inspired the environmental movement which is a pillar of the new world order. The environmental movement is dedicated to saving the rain forests (among other things) and leaving the native peoples undisturbed in their native environment. They also say thousands of plants that only grow there are being lost forever. They may have medicinal value that could cure all sorts of diseases. A popular movie was made based on that theme. So in the physical realm we see a movement with good motives and for a good cause. Don't disturb native peoples, don't destroy irreplaceable forests and valuable and irreplaceable plants. But the spiritual battle is the devil trying to stop the gospel being preached to all creation so the end can come. he doesn't want the end to come. He would like to preserve a group that has never and will never hear the gospel so that prophecy cannot be fulfilled.
