You are reaching dude!

Canada Act, 1982, act of the British Parliament that superseded the BRITISH NORTH AMERICA ACT of 1867 as the basic constitution of Canada. It combines the provisions of the British North America Act, subsequent amendments to that act by the British Parliament, and the CONSTITUTION ACT, 1982, which established procedures by which Canadians could amend their own constitution. It was passed in response to the Canada Bill (1981), an act of Canada's Parliament that resulted from months of negotiations between the federal and provincial governments (except of Quebec). Despite protests from Canadian tribal groups and from Quebec prov., the act was signed into law by Queen Elizabeth II in Ottawa on Apr. 17, 1982.

Okay, folks. Line up. Choose sides. It's Canada versus the United States of America in the Great Debate of '98. Choose yer weapons, fellas, and come out swingin'.

We'll start taking bets and issuing odds as soon as we see exactly where the lines are drawn.
