I said I would check it out.... The myth I was referring to was that guns are more likely to be used on the owner-- that is a patently false doctored statistic from HCI. As for accidents? For adults I have no sympathy for an idiot that accidently kills himself with a gun. Darwinism at it's best! For children-- laws to make those adults responsible to pay. I do not advocate lack of safety or lack of law in response to making things safer. But, jsut because some people are idiots I will not give up a God given right to self preservation. (Yes, I am a Christian.) I do vehemently object to restrictions on ownership to law abiding US citizens.....
