O.K. Everything is now clear to me ....

1. Only Intel can make a chip and sell it below cost.
2. Only Intel has millions of dollars to advertise a brand and make it sound good.
3. Only Intel can put out last year's technology and make it sound like its' the latest and greatest to have.
4. Only Intel can buy whatever it wants regardless of the valuation and the cost.
5. Only Intel can change their technology, suppress their specifications and mislead their competitors, to maintain a monopoly over the technology of today and the future.
6. Only Intel has thousand of minions, employees that follow the ever imposing beauracratic structure blindly, that can work endless hours to deliver whatever it is they choose.
7. Only Intel has invested in huge factories that they've built for staggering sums of money to fabricate the never ending supply of chips that the consumers want.
8. Only Intel can strike fear in the hearts of their competitors by announcing that they will enter their markets.
9. Only Intel can fight the bleeding heart liberals at the DOJ who object to unfair practices and impede on the liberties of the unconstrained monopolies to establish themselves as the almighty providers of technological solutions to the masses.
10. Only Intel can issue a press release and cause the devaluation of the market capitalization of its' competitors by half.

They're may be more but its' clear to me and probably to all that resistance is futile. That the creativity and the freedom that has defined and introduced the biggest advances of history are no longer sufficient to withstand the mighty forces of the all powerful monopolies. That the individuals, the independent minded creative geniouses, must put aside their innovations, for they cannot be successful. That the hard core PC gamers, that demand, expect the best from their peers, must be satified by that which is given to them and be grateful for the privilege. That the ideas of a free market system supported by a global capital market and individual investment are no longer necessary. That the central planners will ....

Hey, maybe I'm wrong, maybe my investment in a small company that provides the best 3D gaming technology in the world, that can build the fastest 2D technology on their first try, is doomed to failure. Maybe all my hard work to find and follow that which few have discovered, which flows against the currents of the Wall Street rivers, has been wasted. Maybe I'm just too stubborn to see all this but then again maybe ....

NOT! TDFX ROCKS! Joe C.

What do you get with a vertical designed processor (Pent II)? Room to put the modem chip on the motherboard.
