Roland has sold over 60,000 VS-880 recording units. This is astounding sales for a pro-sumer equipment. Their newly released VS-1680 should do equally as well.

OEM Evaluation Quest units have been available for some time. He may have had access to one and was impressed. However, Syquest simply cannot afford to produce external units on their own. They are looking to a manufacturing partner. So there is a question to as whether Quest will ever see the light of day or not. OEM units cost much less to make. Hence their search for companies like Roland.
