From an earlier post of mine on another thread:

NEW FLASH --- thread-lice thrive on attention.
There, now we all know it.
Over and over people ask, "why are you here?"
They are here because they get a response.
Period.
Counter thread-lice infections with a light dusting of factual information to counter their
"droppings", BUT DON'T RESPOND DIRECTLY TO THEM!
Also -- personal attacks and barbed comments are the thread-lice's favorite
nourishment. DON'T FEED THEM!
Deprived of direct attention and the nourishment of personal attacks, a thread-lice
infection should generally clear up in a few days.
Personally, I have nothing against the poor things -- they are what they are. It's those
others who constantly nourish and encourage them that bug me.
I ain't no thread-cop and never want to become one, but I don't mind trying to do a little
work the area of basic thread hygene.
