zurdo,

There was a nice piece on CNN Sunday
in an interview with Jon Burnham
(Burnham Fund, formerly Drexel Burnham).

When asked where he is investing today,
Burnham was very bullish on PFE.

Yet, it appears investors(?) have
selective listening skills or give
CNBC far more credit than they deserve.
DS

PS: Do you think Maria Bartiromo has bags
under her eyes? Maybe she stays up all
night dreaming this stuff up.

This is the script that Maria and CNBC are reading to sink PFE. But at the end of the day, I believe PFE won't incur a big loss.

RESEARCH ALERT - Pfizer switched for Warner

NEW YORK, June 29 (Reuters) - Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette said Monday that analyst Kent Blair recommended switching from Pfizer Inc. (PFE - news) to Warner-Lambert Co. (WLA - news).

-- Blair raised Pfizer 1998 earnings estimate to $2.50 from $2.40, but believes stock is ''very vulnerable'' because selling at 53 times estimated '98 EPS.

-- Says recommends that ''investors switch into WLA, where we have a much higher confidence that investors' expectations will be met.''

Zurdo and all, we all know that this is bullshit. If WLA is going to make their numbers, PFE will certainly make theirs too. The Street is bullish on WLA mainly because of Lipitor sales, which we all know PFE is co-marketing and will gain from that. The Viagra adverse event news is nothing "new," but if the media is going to make a big deal out of that every couple of weeks, eventually everyone would be desensitized.

We would just have to wait for the earnings report to prove them wrong.
