good question.. i think we are too early for dell's pre earnings rally. dell earnings 7-8 weeks away.. if it runs now, it has no omph later on.

look at msft -- that's a valid pre -earnings rally. 3 weeks away.

traders are smart. they know these "dates" and play each tech earnings.. they figure ->"i'll play msft on the way up.. then move my money to dell once msft is done".

with these kind of stats, one can easily beat the buy n' hold.

mkt up 11% for the year.
