Sorry, didn't mean it as a personal attack...
I missed the first part of your statement - whether it was a fair inference or not. Obviously, I don't think it is a fair inference.
As for Mr Giuliani and NYC - I don't see that he has done anything that I, as a Libertarian, am opposed to in the arena of policing.
His "quality of life" crime policy isn't geared toward average individuals. It is geared toward criminals...people in the act of, or accused of committing a crime.
Example, fare jumping. It is a crime. NYPD has solved many other crimes because fare jumpers tend to be, or know of, other more dangerous criminals, and use that fact to crack other cases. Now, unless specific individual rights have been transgressed (Abner Louima), there is nothing wrong with using fare jumpers to idict other criminals....in fact, I applaud the idea! Cite for me specific examples I might be opposed to, and I'll let you know....

As for ee cummings...I agree - great writer. I think you get my point, though.
