I was in a big picture mood tonight, so I found or calculated the stock market values of the nine major publicly traded graphics companies and ATI.

As of market close on 6/29/98, the nine publicly traded graphics companies had the following market capitalizations:

$233M 3Dfx
$98M 3Dlabs
$1,129M Creative Labs (All businesses, not just graphics.)
$240M Diamond Multimedia
$379M Neomagic
$21M Number Nine
$264M S3
$164M STB
$65M Trident

$2.593 Billion, 9 Company Total

$2.618 Billion, ATI Technologies, Inc.
($US = 196M shares x $C19.65 x 0.68$US/$C)

ATI being more valuable than the rest may have just happened for the first time today, as ATI went up again and several of ATI's competitors fell. (nVidia and Matrox aren't public yet, so their market values were not included.)

Lest you think I do not have perspective:

Intel $134.6 Billion

Ski (I also posted this on the ATI thread.)
