United Arab Emirates Approves Sales of Pfizer's Viagra

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP)--The Emirates has approved the sale of Viagra, the second Gulf state to do so.

The Ministry of Health decided in a meeting Sunday to allow the
anti-impotency drug produced by Pfizer Inc to go on sale after conducting a series of tests, the Khaleej Times reported Monday. It said Viagra should be available in pharmacies by the end of the year.

Kuwait was the first Gulf state to approve its use.

Earlier this week, Saudi Arabia's top cleric, Sheik Abdul-Aziz bin Baz, declared the drug is permitted under Islam, provided it does not contain ingredients that harm or intoxicate.

Viagra has sold on the local black market in Saudi Arabia at $80 a pill, eight times its price in the U.S.

Last Nov. Smith Barney recommanded switching from MRK to BMY. That time they are almost same price. How about now? See for yourself.
