Announced today are Bill Elliott, vice president of marketing, Leonard Julius, vice president of sales, and George Flate, vice president of OEM sales. According to Larry Genovesi, Chief Executive Officer of Network Engines, "The addition of these highly skilled executives to the Network Engines executive team gives us a depth of experience that will serve us well as we move into new markets and continue to refine our Internet Protocol Transaction Processing products, including the popular P6000 line."
Bill Elliott Named Vice President of Marketing
Bill Elliott has joined Network Engines as vice president of marketing. Most recently, Elliott was vice president of operations at DynaFlo Systems and vice president of sales and marketing at Anysoft, Inc., two recent software start-ups. Prior to that, Elliott was a member of the senior management team at Stratus Computer for 12 years. He joined Stratus in 1982 -- the first year of product shipment -- and rose to vice president of marketing in 1986 as the company grew from $5 million in 1982 revenue to over $300 million in 1990. In 1990 he became vice president of international and reseller sales for Stratus' telecommunications division, and in 1992 vice president of telecommunications. Prior to Stratus, Elliott was with IBM for 16 years, in a variety of positions, including software development, sales support, and sales management. Elliott earned his BS in mathematics from Duke University. He is a resident of Jamaica Plain, Mass.
Len Julius Named Vice President of Sales
Len Julius has joined Network Engines as vice president of sales. Prior to joining the Company, Julius was New England area director for Bay Networks. In previous positions, he was vice president of sales, for Promptus Corporation, whose products included inverse multiplexers used in videoconferencing. Julius was also North American vice president of sales for Fibronics, focusing on fiber-based bridges, routers, hubs, and multiplexers. He was also vice president of sales for Davox Corporation during its growth from $2 million to $36 million in annual sales; and he was vice president of sales of Datapoint Corporations' Communications Management Products Group. Julius is a graduate of Penn State University with a BA in journalism. He is a resident of Cotuit, Mass.
George Flate Named Vice President of OEM Sales
George Flate has been appointed vice president of OEM sales. He joins Network Engines from Compaq Computer where he was the director of reseller sales for Compaq's communications products division. Prior to Compaq, he was the director of OEM and strategic development at Microcom, a Compaq acquisition. At Microcom, he was responsible for OEM agreements with major communication companies such as Cisco, 3Com, Gandalph, Hayes, Xyplex, and Digital Products Group. Prior to Compaq, he was a channel marketing development manager for multi-vendor customer services at Digital Equipment Corporation and has held several sales and sales management positions with Strategic Mapping, Lex Computer, Symbolics, and Digital Equipment Corporation. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University's Lincoln College. He is a resident of Quincy, Mass.
