Nick, There is a market, but much smaller than the misrepresented levels proposed by CCSI and more in line with the level presented by H&Q (you can access this report through SPRX's web page). I believe the potential market will be approximate to H&Q's estimations, assuming the price for the test is competitive and the accuracy of the device is sufficient (both CCSI and SPRX appear to have the latter, the market will determine the former). But take a look at CCSI's response to Asensio's claims to market size: 1) CCSI puts out Dr. Maisels to quote potential market size, not their own marketing frontman. To do so would put the company at greater risk for liability, assuming their claims are fraudulent. Is this why there is no direct response from the company on this matter? 2) Dr. Maisels then quotes the market for this device as being virtually all births worldwide. Anyone who believes that CCSI could capture the market to this level (or SPRX as well), please step forward and claim it on this thread here and now. I for one would like to know who is gullible enough to believe this hype. 3) Then he claims he is not an expert to determine market size. Point well proven, Dr. Maisels! We would all like to see this product used on every baby born worldwide (myself included, this would result in excellent returns on all our investments, both CCSI and SPRX), but the reality of the world is that most people worldwide do not receive anywhere near the level of healthcare and it would be impossible to believe that market size could approximate what Dr. Maisels proposes within the next 50 years. So there's my spin on it, Nick. Hey Nick, what's your spin on why CCSI's sole response to Asensio's claim of fraudulant misrepresentation of market size is to send out Dr. Maisels who then quotes he is not an expert on such matters (i.e., why doesn't CCSI have someone internal actually state on the record what the market size is)? I find it reprehensible that they send out someone non-qualified and unaccountable (financially) to provide nothing more than opinion and propaganda upon which only the most foolish would base an investment decision.
