I'm sure this info has been posted on Yahoo before, but I thought some SI readers might not have read this yet.

I just got some info from Corporate Wireless Group in Chicago on Portico pricing. (BTW - You can buy Portico through them regardless of where you live)

Monthly rates are:

60 minutes $19.95
150 minutes $29.95
300 minutes $49.95
750 minutes $99.95
1300 minutes $149.95

Apparently, they are offering 50% bonus minutes through October if you are one of the "charter" subscribers. So, you pay for 60 minutes, get 90, etc.

Also, if you sign up for a 12 month contract, you get an additional 10% off your monthly bill. Great idea, I think. Should help our analyst-to-be's make some nice revenue forecasts!

The woman I spoke with said they have been receiving way more calls asking about Portico than they can return in a reasonable amount of time. Response has generally been overwhelming. They are taking orders now - they fax you the service agreement which you send back. A rep from General Magic will call you before launch date to give you a quick tutorial on the service and help you get set up (nice touch! i'm thinking of users like my mom who will be immediately turned off if they can't figure out how to get it working initially).

The fax includes a nice description of the service as well.

CWG's number is 800-675-4294 if anyone's interested.

I hung up the phone totally pumped about my GMGC investment! I guess you never know how things will really work out until the proverbial fat lady sings, but I think I can hear those notes starting to be belted out from over yonder...

I'm off to the NYC meeting tomorrow morning. I'll post anything interesting that comes out of it.
