I am very long CPQ but I'm always alert for shrewd investment advice.
Perhaps you could explain how this strategy held up last Mon. - Thurs??

Thanks

OT ----- Rudedog....

You know, I just don't get Michael. I finally had to say something, and figured replying to you was less painful than actually replying to him.

He just can't do the math - it all breaks down to percentages, right? He comes on here talking about what a dog CPQ is and how wonderful DELL is. I don't in any way disagree that DELL is a high flyer, but let's look at the numbers last week.

Dell started at 87 7/8, and is now around 94 5/16. That's a gain of about 6 7/16, or about 7.3%.

Compaq started the week around 27 3/8, and is now around 29 1/2. That a gain of about 2 1/8, or almost 7.8%.

Both did quite well, but CPQ edged out DELL. This isn't tough math, is it? Just sittin' here kinda mystified.....

Dog,

Michael is right, CPQ can't hold its daily gain at the close of the market. From the latest trading volume, it is very clear that investors had lost interest in this stock. Just
look at today's trading volume, 6 MM shares, which is only 0.375% of the
total outstanding. Talking is cheap, what the street wants to see is "Show me the money", If CPQ can't generate a consistent profit, its stock price will just float , up and down, at the current level. Of course , the merger of DEC is very positive, but
it will only contribute to CPQ's long term success. If you are a long term investor, well, you may just hold tight. However, if you want your money to make some money, there are quite a lot of stocks out there which is flying !!!!!!
