I don't see your point. I already explained to you that the crime that you claim effects you as a result of "drugs" is due to the fact that it is criminalized in the first place. As for the foster homes, I again don't see your point. I clearly pointed out the need to protect children whose rights are infringed upon by dangerous parents. Those parents threaten their children in more ways than just their drug abuse. In fact, their drug abuse is the least of their problems, in most cases. I don't know why you ignored the pursuit of happiness. I can only believe that you did so because it didn't help your case... The Prohibition had to do with more than alcohol? Pray tell, educate me. If I am not incorrect, alcohol was outlawed by the Constitution.......please tell me that some "greater good" was at work here. As a result of Prohibition, ordinary businessmen became outlaws. Outlaws providing alcohol saw profits rise dramatically. Risk/Reward was extrememly beneficial. Also, however, was competition for the money. As a result, violent crime rose dramatically. Net result: No decrease in alcohol usage (actually, some increase -though statistically non-verifiable), no decrease in crime (statistically verifiable increases, though), no decrease in societal problems (statistically verifiable increases, on some measures), no decrease in homes and lives destroyed by alcohol abuse. Parallels abound to this and our current drug situation. Why do you not understand the correlation between other drugs and cigarettes/alcohol? Can you say - beyond a shadow of a doubt - that neither cigarettes and alcohol are as dangerous as other drugs? If so, please educate me as to how this is the case. I could provide reams of data that would point to both as being fundamentally more dangerous to the individual AND society than other drugs. Both cigs and alcohol are addictive. Both cause diseases to the individual using them. Both can lead to financial ruin. Both can cause families to break up. Where do the similarities end and drugs other than alcohol and cigs become more dangerous?
