I'd rather have one in my nightstand than to trust ol' blue in "Car 54" to bust his #*! out of the doughnut shop in time to address the disagreement I might be having with the neighborhood prowler.

The 2nd Amendment was written at a time when it took a fortnight to reload your weapon; times change and so should the constitution.

Additionally, as more and more people are crammed into tighter and tighter spaces as the population and urban areas grow, I honestly do not see how this Amendment cannot be changed at some point in the future.

Also, handguns serve no other purpose but kill and maim. They should be outlawed. They are not hunting weapons(although some NRA buddies claim they are), and the right to target practice was not in the 2nd as far as I can tell.
