My argument is that they all suck and the market has reached some level of saturation. If unit volumes do not keep going up at 30-40% per year ( due to price pressures), these companies could see a dramatic reduction in share prices.

In that event they will be ideal pickings for someone wanting to merge FPGA technology with inhouse std products. In that environment GATE and ACTL may be good plays as their stcok prices are not stellar.

ACTL only has a valuation of 10% of ALTR, XLNX with 25% of their sales. These higher valuations are based on the market assuming a return to long term growth for both XILINX/ALTR. If that doesn't happen - watch out.
