VLAD
Almost every patient I see has a PCP and has had all your screening tests. Doing a cardiac stress test for impotence I think is ridiculous. We do talk to the patient and examine him so if there is an endocrine problem we might do some studies but that kind of patient is rare. If you want to be scientific you should not be recommending cardiac stress testing for someone who has no symptoms, normal laboratory studies and a normal ECG. Many of the "impotent" patients I see fit that scenario. Do your studies on the next thousand patients you see and post your results. They call it 'much ado about nothing'. You will be shocked at how few cause and effect diagnosis you can come up with. Remember just because the have diabetes, hypertension with meds, urologic surgery, etc; does not mean those are the cause of the impotence. No assumptions just the facts. Lots of luck
