Brad, I think there is a difference between people who come on threads with facts that point them to a different conclusion than the mainstream and people that are against almost every stock, bashing them just for the sake of getting attention or furthering their agendas. On these boards you have those that think for themselves and those that are followers and let others think for them. Freedom of speech allows for differing opinions. Unfortunitely, when many buy a stock they close their minds concerning the pitfalls that are there. Anyone that challenges their stock becomes the enemy; a shorter; a MM; whatever. Many fail to realize that critical thinking, skepticism and a show me or prove it attitude can be a very reasonable filter for those sifting through these hyped BB stocks trying to find a diamond in the rough. Many that have been burned by company hype or their online shills either tend to get cautious or become ex-investors. With most of these micro stocks being only hype with no real substance, it is very clear why some approach them with a high degree of skepticism expecting to find only hot air. When on occasion, they find something of substance instead, they may invest. It is never a good idea to succumb to the Pied Piper syndrome of these boards and follow blindly with YOUR MONEY anyone who appears to be leading you to the promised land with any stock. Rather it is better to question everything and everyone and do your on DD and not entrust it to others. While the gurus are bailing with a profit most of the followers are left holding the bag when the stock crashes. The reality is that this is a market system and in order for someone to make money, someone else must lose money. Not all that play the game will or can win; in fact, probably most in the bb arena will lose. When we become emotional in the pursuit of a stock an descend to personal attacks, we are the most vulnerable to be taken in this market of micros. For those of us that can make money in this market, in spite of our great picks that are going to the moon that turn out to be scams or dogs, it is called survival. My impression is that a long term investor will do all right regardless of the number of bashers in a stock with good fundamentals. Since many of these BB stocks don't have good fundamentals; heck even a Financial Statement may be hard to find or non-existent in many of the most hyped; certainly they are vulnerable to intense criticism, shorters and MM games. Since many in these BB's are short term investors, certainly they are more sensitive toward anyone who appears to be posting road blocks that may detour the upward profitable direction of THEIR home run stock of the moment. BTW Those that post differing opinions expect to get flamed or engaged in debate.
