Daniel,

Well I'm sure different authors have 'slightly' different perspectives on things, but I recently read Magee's T.A. of stock trends and he suggested that to be 'more' careful when a triangle starts to pass the 2/3 point, not necessarily forgo the formation altogether - (well maybe this last part is more of my opinion, but I have seen MANY triangles still function well past the 2/3 point).

Thanks for the response. I have to admit, I've read just enough to make myself dangerous. And yes, with declining volume both buyers and sellers are disappearing so waiting for a confirmation is probably a good idea. I need to find more time to study the characteristics to look for. Frankly, double bottoms and candlestick "morning stars" are the patterns that have worked the best for me.
