Gerle Gold Ltd. and Monopros Limited Announce 1998 Exploration Program to Commence on Doyle Lake Project, NWT, Canada VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 1998-- GERLE(VSE:GGL. - news) Ray Hrkac, President of Gerle Gold Ltd., is pleased to announce that the 1998 program for Doyle Lake is about to commence, The Doyle Lake project, which includes the claims known as LA 1-25, is located on the Slave Craton in the Northwest Territories, about 280 km northeast of Yellowknife. The company plans to drill two of the lake targets which are accessible from shore. Depending on logistics and other variables, a number of drill targets will also be reviewed for inclusion in either the early drilling program or for drilling in late summer or fall. Originally a number of the lake targets were to have been drilled through the ice. But because of poor ice conditions caused by unseasonably high temperatures this spring, crews were unable to proceed with the planned ice-based drilling; several of these lake targets are too far from shore for summer drilling. In addition to drilling, the program will include indicator mineral sampling and ground checks of selected target areas. These properties are subject to an agreement between Gerle Gold Ltd. and Monopros Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of De Beers Consolidated Mines Ltd [Nasdaq:DBRSY - news]. Gerle is the operator and project manager at Doyle Lake, working in conjunction with and under the direction of Monopros, which earned its 60 percent interest in the property in 1997, The Doyle Lake project is financed by Monopros. With the focus provided by our analytical work, and given the positive initial results from the Mountain Province kimberlite pipes just north of our border (including the Hearne pipe, just 200 metres from our property), we are enthusiastic about the 1998 program.
