Well, the posters came back to this thread with a vengeance! If I can get away from the 10K for a moment (BTW, much of the language in that 10K is word for word the same that they put out way back last year - disclaimers on everything) I'd like to pass on this little item from the 1998 issue of Battery Power Products & Technology: (Those of you who who have panicked as a result of the 10K need not read it, the calmer longs can ponder the possibilities) "Motorola's Energy Solution Provides 11 Hours to Micron's GoBook" <<Motorola's Energy Systems Group has been selected by Micron Electronics to provide the battery solution for a new product, the GoBook, which gives users an industry-leading 11 hours of operation. The Micron design uses prismatic Li-Ion cell technology, SM-BUS hardware architecture, and Motorola-designed firmware for fuel-gauging and safety protection. Looking to the future, the battery and smart system electronics have been designed to accept the emerging Li-Ion polymer cell technology. Li-Ion polymer promises to provide even thinner battery form factors, coupled with low weight and high energy density - key features desired by the mobile computing industry.
