re convertible bonds,

Jacob, Here you are asking me to get naked in public. Why did I buy convertible bonds instead of stock? Especially since I don't know squat about bonds?

1. Interest rates and Cymer stock are depressed, so the convertibles are selling at a discount.
2. I think CYMI is going to have a VERY good future, but don't know when the rampup to smaller architectures will impact its bottom line and consequently its price. However, I feel sure it will occur within the next 6 years or it won't happen at all. When/if it happens, I would expect CYMI to have a much improved price chart. Someone on this thread calculated that they were convertible to about 21.27 shares of CYMI. So if CYMI gets to 40 within 6 years I make a (small) profit.
3. With the bonds, I have a cash equivalent... Which I can use for margin purposes, such as writing naked puts on other stocks I like (DELL, MSFT, CSCO, LU)

Maybe I'm all wet, but those were my thoughts. I'm not a bond trader, obviously <vbg>

Regards, jbn3.
