A few thoughts on Trading:

Every once in awhile it is appropriate to review a few things like Watch Lists and Trading methods/strategies/tools.

A Watch list is, very simply, a list of equities an analyst (and by that I mean someone who researches stocks in the broader sense) believes is poised for positive share price growth. The purpose of posting those is to reduce the thousands of equities to a few that one could reasonably watch for buy signals the following day. Short Watch Lists are always posted as such.

There are as many trading methods and strategies as their are traders. Jenna and I and Copia and Sterner and all of the regular posters each have their own method and swcreens. But there is no one secret method or list of screens or criteria that work always for all stocks. The variety of methods that are used provide a robust forum for followers of this and other threads. Indicators drift and markets change, and although there are some tried and true methods of picking stocks, it is the constant awareness of those changes that makes ones list valuable.

Market Gems, the business, is different from this thread on SI. Although it has a collection of our posts about indicators and trading and screening and how-to's, that is to save us the effort of rewriting and reposting for everyone who asks. But a subscription is not for everyone. If you are new to trading, then the best thing to do is surf through the SI threads until you find that unique set of methods and information and tools that supports whatever trading mindset evolves for you. If you are familiar with what to do with a watch list, with trading and due diligence and able to make intraday buys and sells, the Market Gems may have some value to you. Or not.

And I say that because it is an individual choice that one must make based on their skills and inclinations and ability to make use of that type of information. Please appreciate that most of our subscriber base won't be from places like SI, but from brokerages and trading firms who only need the list of equities to watch. Other firms who solicited this effort from us. People who tracked our posts and are comfortable with our screens and research. But even at that, our picks won't be viable for all firms.

So filter this thread as you read it. Some of it is for daytrading, and some for longer postion holds. It offers some information about the markets and trading and we 'police' iot to keep the hype and argumentation down. Use it for what its here to share. If you are new, you might want to frequent some of the basic threads. If you are a buy-and-hold type, this isnt the thread for you either. But if you think this thread has some potential, lurk, read, ask questions, then make your own opinion. We have no hidden agenda. This is what we do.
