OK. I'm hoping we can turn things around from late July through September. I hate holding stocks long from October through mid-December.

What I'm really looking at is volume and momentum.

"My Theory"

1. Last year, 1997, most oil/service stocks put in their low for the year in June.

2. Looking at charts for the past 5 years, the 3rd and 4th qtrs have been much stronger than the first half for this sector as a whole.

3. Anticipation of a cold winter and OPEC cuts will slowly increase the price of crude.

4. The sector is considered dead...damaged goods...

My theory, is that we have seen the lows...or are experiencing the bottom now...This sector will slowly gain strength...not in a strong rally, but gradually. By the end of September we could all be looking back asking ourselves why we didn't buy more....

Just my thoughts
Dave

P.S....Or, we could start firing missles at oil producing countrys...just to get the ball rolling<g>
