Prosecutors to change tactics against Microsoft

WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- State and federal antitrust prosecutors
will change their tactics in their new suit against Microsoft (MSFT) in the
wake of an unfavorable appeals court ruling in a related case last week,
The New York Times reported Tuesday. The prosecutors say they will
concentrate more on exclusive contracts Microsoft has with internet
service providers and less on the argument that Microsoft is illegally tying
its internet browsing software with its dominant operating system
Windows 98. The Justice Department has not decided yet if it will appeal
the appeals court ruling. (The New York Times)
