>>I don't believe there is much you can do to prevent them without significantly impairing individual rights.
However, taking strides to prevent a terrorist attack WITHOUT infringing on peoples' rights IS possible and desirable.<<

Having just recently moved I rented a U-Haull. After giving my credit card info and signing the contract, I was presented with an ink pad and asked to place a thumb print on the contract. I refused and was then told it's a federal law. So I smudged it as bad as I could. Is this part of the anti-terrosim law? Must be. What a silly and invasive procedure that is.

I disagree.
Your son would be being held against his and your will.
People on the highway are not being held hostage. They can get off the road if they see someone driving oddly or rush ahead.
You are still into prevention.
It cant be done.
And trying to do it takes away individual rights which I am not willing or happy to give up.
Of course I havent had much choice.
I have had to give them up against my will.
I guess I am being held hostage.
