Well I was just able to enter a GTC order (subject to my promise of good delivery, because they have not caught up with the name and symbol change) to sell USXP at $10; the order was confirmed by the Schwab website, so I guess the stock can be traded at will . . . .

(I am not seriously trying to sell, and I'm heading back to cancel)

AFTER EDIT: When I went to cancel, I found they had outed it 2 minutes after they had confirmed it, so who knows what's going on (Schwab RTQ now 1 7/8).

Peacelover,

This message concerning Schwab's reply to you reflects just the question I posed on the other thread. Could you also post it there.

Thanks

Bill

You can sell a security in the middle of a symbol/name change. It creates a short position in the new symbol, but thats only on paper. Most brokerage houses can help you with this. Try Waterhouse (One of the few things I actually liked abou them. )
