Actually, the fact that you were able to buy at the bid would tend to indicate weakness in a stock at that moment, IMHO. So the volume summary is still useful info. The double counting is not important, as it occurs on both buys and sells. What matters to me is the ratio between trades. If there were 6 times as many trades at the bid as at the ask, or vice versa, it is an interesting indicator.
