>>>I don't think CheckFree will be quick to partner with NetScape, unless Netscape agrees to be treated just like another biller (i.e. IBS).

I agree with all that...except the above. Should be 'NetScape agrees to be treated just like another consolidator(i.e. Quicken.Com)

From e-check article:

>>>It is also very different from the electronic bill-paying a few consumers use now. Most of those services are not really electronic; the consumer simply pays a company to write paper checks

...Um...incorrect. Most? I think CheckFree is most, and CheckFree is at least half electronic, and by the end of the year will be mostly electronic. If an new technology is so great, why do they need to misrepresent the facts in order to sell it?

>>>The day's checks are then e-mailed off to the bank for deposit, and the software automatically gets an acknowledgment after the banks gets that e-mail.

...sound simple enough, but this is where it get's sloppy.

>>>''I'm sure the system is not the optimal one, but who knows what is? I believe that the way we make progress is through evolution. This is a very significant step.''

...in other words...The government like to throw money away, even if the money is electronic.
