A little gem got dropped on CBC Newsworld last night. During the coverage of the Compaq layoffs, some guru was being interviewed about the impact of laying off 800 former DEC Canada employees.

His response:

"They'll have no trouble finding jobs. Everybody knows that Newbridge is hiring hand over fist. "

... everybody but Rob McLellan that is.

Ian.

The statment "over 35 milinons"means that the contract calls for another 15(conservative number acc. to NN).

Zbyslaw --

Thanks for checking on the contract. I was interested in your other post where you said telecommunications companies announce contracts in the fall. Deutsche Telecom said they'd be rolling out DSL in September, so maybe there'll be announcements surrounding that, too. I've not heard anything about NN being in that space ---- Siemens has a leg up there --- but where there's speed, there's backbone.

Later --
