TO ALL: I'm sorry I started this "ize" criticism..well maybe not!
Anyway lets end it, its getting boring, but lets end it on a note of compromise. In recognition of the societal contributions of all Electrical Engineers, all holders of an EE degree are hereby given license to speak in your own patois which it is my pleasure to christen....
"TECHNOGEEK SPEAK LICENSE".
The grammar rule IN QUESTION is as follows:
Whenever an economy of words is desired, you may coin your own verbs by: 1) taking the noun nearest that which you want to describe, and 2) shoving "ize" on the ass end of it. eg...one tripping on the sidewalk has had his/her face "sidwalkized". Since there is no other single word with precisely that same meaning (not to mention carrying the same spine-chilling emotion of the face to concrete impact) the rule is appropriately applied.
All EE holders must present this license to any bona fide liberal arts smartass who challenges you. If you are unsure that the person challenging you is a liberal arts major...demand to see their unemployment book for proper identification.
