Michelle,

>> then we would be looking at revenue on the books this qtr for things that were initally started last December - before the Scopus announcement, so if that were the case then no, it is not possible that Scopus took business from Vantive<<

There is just one thing missing from this...You are assuming that scop had no pipeline going into this merger which is totally impossible if they had a salesforce. I'm not saying they might not have been winning these deals (or at least ahead depending on how far along they were) but as we already know, scop was not great in the sales part of its organization which is what eventually contributed to its demise. Now if you take this same pipeline and put it under the sebl organization, I believe the picture certainly must have changed since one thing no one disputes is the strength of the sebl salesforce.

I know in the last quarter, someone posted on one of these threads ( I think it was Farber but I'm not certain) that they hadn't expected Tom to be on an airplane flying around the country helping to close scop deals...which he apparently was. This was back when everyone was saying this merger was going to hurt the last quarter, btw. I remember this vividly because at the time I remember thinking.....what else would you expect him to be doing?

So it the above is true then there is no way that sebl couldn't have taken business from vntv.
