You bring up a really interesting point here - I have always been impressed with Big Blue's vision. Our industry tends to deal with cycles that revolve around quarters, or even months these days. IBM has the ability to view events in terms of decades or beyond. I think if they viewed CSCO as eating away at part of the market they were truly concerned about, they would have already had a reaction. They seem to fight (or merely overpower) when cornered, but nurture those that help build markets for them. Hell, I'm long on both, so as long as they aren't at each other's throats, I'm happy.

As far as Advantis or GDN, I deal mainly on the emulator side of the business, so I'm not really sure.
